Situated just a 2-minute walk away from Akakura Onsen Ski Resort, Akakura Wakui Hotel (赤倉ワクイホテル) offers simple accommodation with natural hot spring baths and a gracious, friendly staff. The hotel is operated by a well-known local family and features a plethora of local history and artworks to be viewed at leisure.

All guest rooms are fitted with a TV, a fridge and an electric kettle. Guests can try on Japanese yukata robes and and enjoy complimentary green tea in their room. Some rooms feature traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring and futon bedding.

Wakui Akakura Hotel provides free luggage and ski storage services. Ski pass purchase and equipment hire are available on site. Free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas and a free internet PC can be used at the lobby.

The hotel is a few steps from a free shuttle service to the Akakan Ski Area which is a 3-minute drive away. It’s a 15-minute drive from Myoko-Kogen Interchange on Joshin-etsu Expressway, and a 10-minute drive from JR Myoko-Kogen Station. Free shuttles are offered from the station with advance request.

Guests can enjoy seasonal Japanese multi-course dinner and hearty breakfasts. Guests without a meal plan who want to eat dinner at the property must make a reservation at time of their booking.
