Madarao Elm Pension is a small 11-room wooden-style pension comfortably warmed by the Swedish central heating system. The carpeted rooms feature a seating area, western bedding and a view of the garden.
Bathrooms and toilets are shared with other guests. There are both male and female baths for 3-6 people, excellent after coming back from a day out on the slopes. Just three minutes away by car is the delightful outside rotenburo bath “Madarao no yu”.
Elm Pension in Madarao is well known for their carefully prepared dishes. In winter season they also prepare popular warm nabe dishes, along with local wine and Japanese sake. For breakfast, guests can enjoy fresh baked bread and free flow specially prepared coffee. Egg, bacon/ham, vegetable salad and desserts also available. You can enjoy a hearty meal whilst looking over the spectacular Shiga mountain scenery.
At Elm Pension in Madarao ski equipment can be rented and stored on site. A concierge service and an ironing service are available at the front desk. Barbecue facilities can be used at a surcharge.
A western/Japanese-style meal featuring local fresh produces is served for dinner and a western-style set breakfast is served in the mornings. Both meals are served at the dining area.
The Madarao Onsen ski lifts are located within a 7-minute walk from the property. Guests can also get to the Madarao Kogen Ski Resort within a 1-minute drive.
